Phil Warner, the Founder and CEO of Ecofibre for the last 20 years until December 2017
Phil is the founder and Managing Director of Ecofibre. For nearly 20 years he has worked as an adviser and consultant to multiple governments and agencies with regards to the legislation and set up of hemp industries in USA, Canada, United Kingdom, Holland, Uruguay, India, China, Southern Africa, East Timor, Thailand, Malaysia, New Zealand and of course throughout Australia.
Within Australia, Phil has worked closely with the State agencies of QLD through the IHAC committee, WA Agriculture, NSW Agriculture & Health, SA Primary industries and State Development, NT Primary Industries, New Zealand Government, ACT Government and TAS Health and DPIWE.
Over the past decade Phil has led the R&D effort that has resulted in Ecofibre owning one of the world’s most diverse cannabis germplasm collection and most diverse latitude crop trials “yield and cost, quality and product”. In addition to this he has developed a wide range of technologies that support the agronomy, production logistics and advanced processing technologies of industrial hemp into new era products such as HempBlack.
Phil is a globally recognised leader in the industrial hemp industry, is published on specific hemp industry matters and has made multiple presentations on industrial hemp at global conferences including UN Year of the Natural Fibre, and conferences in the afore mention countries.
